The anode is a magnesium rod Φ22Χ150mm. It is a method of protection against corrosion of metals that come in contact with water. The cathodic protection is achieved by the addition of a suitable material (of the anode), which corrodes in place of the protected metals.

It is screwed to the base of the boiler resistance since we have unscrewed it and removed it.
