Butaflex is a pasty, non-sagging, butyl-based sealant. The curing takes place by physical drying. This product can be used for a removable plastic sealing of joints in many industrial sectors. Resistant to temporary contact to water, oils, diluted acids/alkaline.

Application fields For the car, bus, truck and caravan industry. Butaflex 200 shows good adhesion on almost every surface with minimal pre-treatment. Suitable for flashings, butt straps and perimeter sealing in roofing and cladding, for sealing seams and joints in vehicle construction, for heating and ventilation ductworks. Suitable for bedding glass into rubber molding in windscreen repair.

APPLICATION To obtain maximum performance in terms of adhesion, the surfaces concerned must be dry and clean. It is advisable to make preliminary adhesion tests on the surfaces. Remove the top part of the threaded top screw on the plastic nozzle and cut it at an angle according to the desired bead thickness and profile. Fit the cartridge into a manual or pneumatic air operated gun (provided with telescopic piston) and extrude the sealant carefully preventing air entrapment. Once opened, packs should be used up within a relatively short time. The optimum operating temperature for both substrate and sealant is between 15°C and 25°C. Tooling and finishing must be carried out within the tack-free time of the sealant. Since system is moisturecured, permit sufficient exposure to air. Bonded elements may require additional holding or support during hardening period. CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT AND PERSONAL PROTECTIVE MEASURES Clean the tools used with white spirit. Once hardened, the product can only be removed mechanically, eventual residues can be removed with white spirit as well.
